Surly Queen
Early in 2019 I finally started work on my Surly Queen suit. Like most of my good creative intentions, this one had been locked in a compartment in my head named - waiting - for some time and just needed to be coxed out of there to become a reality.
Then, a friend of mine sent me an image of another Pearly Queen contender and my competitive instinct kicked in and the idea fell out of my head and into reality.
Having a link to the East-end of London and a fascination with Pearly Kings and Queens, I sourced as many mother of pearls buttons as I could and then set to work.
It's still a work in progress and an ongoing absolute joy.
